10 Simple New Year Resolutions You Can Actually Follow

Happy New Year friends! I cannot believe we are already in 2019 and although 2018 was a great year full of wonderful memories, adventures and a new blog (hooray!), I am very excited to create even a more productive year. So, I prepared for you 10 simple resolutions you won't regret making that will help you maintain a 'can-do' lifestyle attitude. They will definitely be my priority. New Year, bring it on!

1. Call Your Family More Often

I know it's hard to find the time to Skype when you have a million other things to do, but if you keep the calls short and sweet, catching up with your family can be very rewarding and calming. No matter if you call your mom for recipe advice or you catch up with your grandma on your way to work, being present and involved is definitely one of the most important resolutions for me; after all, family should be everyone's first priority.

2. Say Yes To All Opportunities

Nothing spectacular will happen this year unless you are open and with an adventurous spirit! I am talking about taking on that random project you had no plan to get involved in. You might be surprised and learn something new about yourself from it or it might open a new door that leads to an exciting future.

3. Prioritize The Life Admin

It's very easy to postpone things like dentist checkups or applying for a new credit card when you have a full agenda for tomorrow. But it takes two hours every month to get these 'back burner' tasks done and you will feel so good! Also, your mind will be clearer and you will focus more easily on the more important things.

4. Forgive More And Be A Kind Person

Did you explain something to your colleague a thousand times just so he can mess it up again? -Oh well, let me explain again! By letting little things go, you will become calmer, happier and more energetic!

5. Workout At Least Twice A Week

Yes, everyone will start going to the gym in January and it will probably last until February. Instead of opting for a gym membership, start building strength at home, working out at least two times per week using your body weight.

6. Cook More

I'm not saying you have to start using #MealPrep every day, but a few times a week will save you a lot of money and help maintain a healthy diet. It's very easy to get off track during your breaks when you don't know what to eat.

7. Spoil Yourself

It doesn't matter if it's a SPA day, a city break or simply an entire Netflix and chill day. You will feel fresh and become more productive if you remember to reward yourself once in a while.

8. Save More Money For Holidays

No matter how cute (and tempting) that dress on sale is, I promise it is not as good as a day on the beach sipping your favourite cocktail. This year you can turn impulse purchases into vacay fund!

9. Think/ Plan For Future

I know this one is a tough one especially when most of us have no idea what we are going to do next week and, although I like being spontaneous, a minimum amount of future planning is necessary for you to know in

which direction you are heading. Start with some goals that you would like to achieve in let's say 2 years and break them into small objectives. By the end of the year, you will feel more prepared and won't be as anxious when you think about your future.

10. Do More Yoga Or Meditation

You can go to the gym 7 days/ week and meal-prep every day, but if you don't maintain a healthy mind it's all pointless. While yoga helps improving your body strength, endurance and flexibility, meditation helps keep the mind sharp, reliefs stress and anxiety.

Even 10 minutes every other day will do the trick and you will feel the difference in no time. I love doing some yoga right before going to bed to have the sweetest sleep!
